About Us

In 1985, West Quincy Auto Auction opened its doors in Taylor, Missouri; located in the heart of the Midwest, next to the Mighty Mississippi River.

In 1993 the Mighty Mississippi River almost completely covered the two story office building, disrupting business for several months. There have been a handful of owners since 1985.

In October of 2000, Virgil Lackey of Palmyra, MO leased the auction and in 2006 bought the facility. Under Virgil Lackey's ownership the auction has continued to grow. In 2007 Virgil purchased additional ground west of the auction to provide additional parking and a separate entrance for transports. Through honesty, experience, and hard work WQAA continues to grow with each sale.
